Data Insights
You can use Data Insights to dig deeper into your exam results and see how your school, subject, class and individual students have performed.
Log in to Data Insights
To use the insights tools in Centre Services, you will need to:
- log in to your myAQA account
- click on Centre Services on the main menu
- go to the Post-exams tab
- select Data Insights.
If you're logging in for the first time, you'll need to register for a myAQA account.

From 8.00 am on results days you can
Access grade overviews
With the new overview dashboard you’ll see important grades highlighted and brought to the forefront with easier to identify key targets for all awards.
See how the grades achieved by your students compare to results and performance from the previous year and how the grades compare to grades achieved by other AQA schools and colleges and other similar centres.
From the macro to the micro, you can drill down into detailed views, including performance data for individual students, questions topics, skills and assessment objectives.
View subject results
Grade distribution and breakdown allows you to view key grades highlighted at a glance. The focus is on viewing your dataset in a clear way, while also being able to visually compare with previous attainment and other similar schools. See the average marks achieved for a subject as well as results from individual students.
See marks analysis
See how individual students performed on specific assessment objectives, skills, topics and questions, where students achieved the most marks in the exam, and how this can inform your teaching for the coming year. With the new question results heatmap, you can easily spot patterns and any outliers. Click on any student to drill down into that student’s results.
View students results
With graphical interface for mark performance, you can quickly identify top and lower performing students. See results for an individual student for a session, award, component or unit.
Download results
This feature allows you to create customised, insightful results reports to support results and post-results. You can download and access this in the ‘Download Results’ tab in the top bar. You can download results for specific:
- sessions
- qualifications
- subject groups
- entry codes
- component codes.
Use student groups
Set up custom groups to compare results from different student groups.
When using ‘Student groups’, you can select up to 10 groups to show at one time. After you've set up your groups, you’ll need to select them to ensure that they are active to use.
To make sure the data is up to date, we'll synchronise the databases and updated data will be available to use in Data Insights graphs within two hours.
If you need to change your groups, you can edit the students in the group or set up a new set of filters.
You can also use ‘Download results’ to export your data into a spreadsheet.
If you’ve made any post-results requests, you'll only see mark or grade changes reflected in Data Insights after an outcome letter has been generated. We will sync the data overnight and the change will be reflected the following day.
