A2 outline

At A2, the translation task provides a test of the student’s grammatical knowledge and a useful tool for further study. This specification will also provide the opportunity for students to study two topics of their choice from a range of literary and non-literary topics.

Written Paper:3 hours
50% of total A Level marks

Candidates will answer a range of questions based on one or more written stimulus texts. They will translate a passage into the target language and respond in writing to two questions based on literary and/or non-literary topics.
