AS and A-level Further Maths

Welcome to the resource hub for AQA A-level Further Maths!

Before you start, please make sure you are familiar with the A-Level Mathematics (7366 and 7367) specifications.

The full specifications, specimen question papers and mark schemes can be found on the links above. We've also created amalgamated versions of the specification subject content for Maths which indicate the content that is A-level only. These can be found below.

Our A-Level Maths handy links provide all our resources in one place. The planning resources can be found in the links below.

Customisable route maps

Plan your teaching of the course with our interactive, customisable route maps. These contain links to supporting resources such as lesson plans, activities, worksheets and homework sheets for AS and A-level Maths and Further Maths

Route maps are available for teaching both tiers over two or three years, as well as a one-year route map specifically tailored for resit students.

You’re now able to recreate your route maps in our new All About Maths platform. We’ve updated how they look, and we’re continuing to make improvements with more features to come.

We value your feedback so please let us know what you think.

We also have original PowerPoint Route maps AS and A-level Maths and Further Maths available for use.

Teaching Resources

Comprehensive step-by-step advice, on what your students should be able to do, including example exam questions.

Teaching guidance

The Teaching guidance has been written to accompany the AS and A-level Further Maths specification and will help you plan your teaching. For each topic within the specification, the Teaching guidance:

  • clarifies how we have interpreted the content
  • explains what students should be able to do to meet the requirements of the topic
  • defines which content appears in the AS and which is A-level only
  • provides example questions to demonstrate how content may be assessed
  • supports teachers in delivering new or unfamiliar content.

The Teaching guidance is presented in documents, one to cover each section of the specification.

Topic tests

We have created a set of topic tests for our A-level Maths and Further Maths qualifications.

Our topic tests cover each topic on our Route Maps and will help you track student progression as you teach the specification content.

Each test is 32 marks, and is split into two sections. Section A tests the basic skills and knowledge of each topic. Section B contains longer problem solving or proof questions, and may include synoptic elements. We recommend allowing students 30–45 minutes to complete each test.

Sample papers and mark schemes

We have produced the following resources for teachers to provide more support in preparing your classroom for success.

AS and A-level Maths and Further Maths Calculator guidance

The Calculator Guidance has been written by our Chair of Examiners, Dan Rogan, to help provide further insight for teachers with regard to what we expect students to do on their calculators in our assessments. He has also written a Marking guidance document which is available on our main website here.

AS and A-level Further Maths (7366 & 7367) Mock Exam Analysers

The mock exam analyser will allow students to:

  • analyse their grade and how far off their target grade they were
  • compare their performance on each question with the students who took the live examination, using real data from the exam
  • see how they performed on the test and identify topic areas where they are strong or weak
  • see the mark scheme which includes a typical answer for each question
  • read examiner comments which explain the solution for each question.
