Unit Award Scheme

demonstrated the ability to

1. mount and dismount in the correct manner

2. ride a horse at three different gaits, ie walk, trot and canter

3. make the horse come to a halt

4. ride a horse on a left rein

5. ride a horse on a right rein

6. lead a horse correctly inhand, walking away from the instructor, turning the horse and returning to the instructor at a trot

7. 'run up' the stirrup irons and loosen the girth.
