3. the electronic structure of a metal atom and a non-metal atom	Student completed work
4. the uses of at least two noble gases	Student completed work
5. the uses of at least two halogens, eg chlorine and iodine	Student completed work
demonstrated the ability to 6. identify an element from its chemical symbol	Student completed work
7. identify metals and non-metals in the periodic table	Student completed work
8. identify at least three groups of elements in the periodic table, eg the alkali metals	Student completed work
9. use a flame test to identify at least three alkali metals.	Student completed work
